Lieutenant Governor Kim Basinger (Republican - New York). Following her separation from Congressman Alec Baldwin (Democrat - New York), Basinger bought the local town of Jericho, Long Island, and then drove it into bankruptcy. In a bizarre twist of New York GOP rivalries, outgoing Governor George Pataki ensured that his nemesis, former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani, would be forced to carry the sagging sexpot on his ticket, hopefully dooming Rudy's hopes. But Basinger proved more adept than had been predicted, and successfully wooed high numbers of New York City liberals as well as upstate New Yorkers, who statistics indicated, spent most of election season "pausing" 9 1/2 Weeks. After a bitter post-election divorce, Basinger renounced her ex-husband and his politics. Basinger has since become a meat-eater, and only wears leather and fur.
