The new-age Cosmic Journey has gameplay similar to that of Infection, but its poorly edited koans provide even more infectious laughter. In Cosmic Journey, one doesn't have a "playing piece" — it's a "talisman." Knowledge of the occult is required when the player lands on a "Question card" square — but there are also Risk cards and Karma cards. These distribute points at random and also offer lengthy texts to read to the group, with sparkling nuggets of New Age bullshit. If you replaced the Question cards with Disease cards you'd basically have a somewhat spacey version of Infection. Similar sorts of dice-rolling and piece-pushing are employed in Cosmic Journey, in a very similar attempt at indoctrination. This game, which we played with an over-full complement of six other players (two playing on a team) was the end of our winning streak. We didn't make it off the Wheel, didn't ascend, didn't join Jerry and Doctor Tim. But at least we remain disease-free.
