Sponsorships are tough, but not for everyone. For instance, Johnnie Unser, Jr., scion of a famous racing family, gets in year after year even though he's never come close to winning. His dad died at Indy, but he chose to become a racer. As usual, he didn't have a chance this year, but he entered because he has a business out West and as an active racer he draws more clients.
